Boddington Reservoir Wind Energy Public Exhibition Dates Announced

Published: 10/11/2009

Partnerships for Renewables has outlined its future plans for public consultation for the ongoing wind energy investigation work at Boddington Reservoir. Although at an early stage, initial studies suggest that up to five wind turbines could be developed with the potential to generate enough green energy for around 5,800 homes*. The turbines could have a maximum tip height of 130 metres (the combined height of the tower and blades). Further information is required before the size of turbines is finally established.

The aim of the events will be to give the local community a chance to discuss the ongoing work with the project team and influence how the work progresses.

Tony Duffin, Regional Manager for Partnerships for Renewables, said: “We are keen to give the local community a real opportunity to shape our work as we move forward and will welcome input throughout the development process. We will hold some further public exhibitions once we start getting the results of study work and have a clearer idea of what any future proposal could look like

“If at any time it becomes clear that the site is inappropriate for the development of wind turbines we will stop work on the site immediately.

“The aim of the community surgeries is to enable people to come and talk to the project team throughout the process but if anyone has questions at any stage they can contact us by phone on 0800 7317395 or via email at pfr@communityrelations.co.uk. The project website will also contain the latest information at www.pfr.co.uk/boddington.”
