British Waterways is working with Partnerships for Renewables to look into the feasibility of developing renewable energy projects on their land.

Timeline

It can take more than three years to design, consent and construct even the simplest commercial scale renewable development. A typical project timeline is shown below.

Partnerships for Renewables and British Waterways are reviewing a number of potential sites and working to establish the suitability of sites for renewable energy development.

Several feasible sites are now undergoing development. For more information on these projects, please click on the hyperlinks below:

Throughout the development process we constantly gather information to feed into the design of a project. If at any stage it becomes apparent that a site is not suitable for development, we stop work on the site.
