Two public exhibitions for the Bure wind energy project to be held in Badersfield and Scottow next week

Published: 08/02/2010

Partnerships for Renewables has announced that it will be holding two introductory public exhibitions for the Bure wind energy project in the villages of Badersfield and Scottow next week.

Members of the project team will be available between 2pm – 8pm at St Edwards Community Church, Tunstead Rd, Badersfield on Wednesday 17th February, and between 2pm – 8pm at the Three Horseshoes Barn, North Walsham Road, Scottow on Thursday 18th February.

The project is in the early stages of development and Partnerships for Renewables is currently looking at the possible construction of one wind turbine on the Bure site with a generation capacity of between two and three megawatts (MW) and a tip height of up to 130 metres.

Jerry Sturman, Regional Manager at Partnerships for Renewables, said: “Partnerships for Renewables and the National Offender Management Service want to ensure that local residents are consulted throughout the development process.

“The site will be undergoing a thorough technical and environmental assessment to establish its suitability for wind energy generation over the coming months. The aim of these early public exhibitions is to introduce the project team to the local community, and to discuss and outline in person the project plans and the environmental and technical studies that will be conducted for this site.

“We would encourage residents that want us to address specific issues or that have particular concerns to come along and talk to us.”
