About our Work

The Environment Agency is working with Partnerships for Renewables to investigate the potential for the delivery of renewable energy developments on its land. The work is currently concentrating on Environment Agency land with the hope of identifing potential locations to site wind turbines.

The work is at an early stage and there is much more detailed technical work to be done before we have a clear idea where the best Environment Agency sites are located.

If results of study work show that renewable energy projects are feasible on any particular site, and it is decided to take the site through to development and planning permission, Partnerships for Renewables and the Environment Agency will ensure that the local community are central to the development process.
