Airth hosts project exhibition

Following on from similar events held in Alloa, Partnerships for Renewables are holding a public exhibition to discuss the potential renewable energy project on the Forthbank amenity site in Alloa. Venue: Airth Community Hall Date: Thursday 16 September Time: 4pm to 8pm Having carried out extensive feasibility work, including a bird survey of the nearby wetlands area, and the erection of a wind monitoring mast on the site, Partnerships for Renewables hopes to submit a planning application for a four-turbine wind energy project in the autumn of 2010. This will have a generation capacity of between two and three megawatts (MW) per turbine and each will have a tip height of up to 125 metres. During the exhibition, which people can drop in at any time, the local community will be presented with photomontages showing what the turbines would look like from various local viewpoints and will have the opportunity to ask questions of the development team. Although the project will be situated in Alloa, PfR is aware that some residents in the Airth and Dunmore area may be interested in seeing how this project could look. Craig Mullen from Partnerships for Renewables, said: “Work is progressing well and the information gathered to date suggests that the site could host up to four commercial scale wind turbines. Although we still have some studies to complete, we are keen to keep the local community informed of the results of our work so far and discuss any questions they may have on our development process. “Anyone who is unable to attend the public exhibition should contact us via email: pfr@communityrelations.co.uk or by phone 0800 731 7395 and we will make alternative arrangements to discuss our work with them.”
