Wind energy community surgeries to be held in Horspath and Cutteslowe

Published: 04/05/2010

Two community surgeries will be held next week as part of an ongoing consultation process for proposed wind energy development on Oxford City Council land.

Renewable energy developer Partnerships for Renewables, the Council’s partner for the wind energy investigations, is keen to continue to share plans for the two proposed single turbine sites at Cutteslowe Park and Oxford Road, near Horspath. The surgeries follow a series of public exhibitions which were held this February.

“Rather than to reveal any new project milestones, the purpose of the surgeries is to provide a ‘drop in’ facility for local communities and anyone with any questions, feedback or suggestions to come along and talk to the project team. We will be able to provide information on our investigations around Oxford so far and answer any queries on wind energy in general,” explains Tony Duffin, Regional Manager at Partnerships for Renewables.

“The drop-in surgeries are part of our continuing consultation programme and we will be holding these regularly throughout the development process. We are still at the early stages of investigating the sites and Oxford City Council and Partnerships for Renewables are committed to having an ongoing dialogue with the local community. We look forward to hearing more comments on the plans.”

The exhibitions are being held at Cutteslowe Pavilion, Cutteslowe Park (Wednesday May 12, 2pm-7pm) and Horspath Village Hall, Horspath (Thursday May 13, 2pm to 7pm).
