Job Title:   Interim Communications Manager
  
Type:  Either fixed terms interim role or contract
            Minimum three month appointment, 3 days a week

Reports To:   Head of Communications and Marketing

Location:  Based in London (regular travel expected)  

Salary:   Negotiable

Summary


Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the core of this role is to proactively pursue the day to day operations of project communications, taking responsibility for managing the company’s local community, stakeholder and media relationships. 

The Interim Communications Manager will be expected to work closely with the Project Developer and the development team, building and nurturing support among local communities and other stakeholders, with the objective of helping the company to meet its development objectives.

Key aspects of the role are:

• Manage key relationships:  Develop and nurture relationships with public sector partners and landlords, local communities and key stakeholders throughout the planning and development process. Feedback to other projects within PfR to share lessons learnt.  Keep all stakeholders informed of project progress.
• Media relations: Proactively build links with local media, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively.
• Public Consultation: Design and implement an appropriate, tailored consultation programme for each site, working to ensure widespread participation in the consultation process, responding promptly to feedback and working to effectively community the details and benefits of the proposals effectively – creating opportunities to generate and maintain support.
• Construction: Maintain links with local stakeholders up to and throughout the construction period, informing local communities of the timescales and methodology of the build programme, and acting as the interface between local communities and stakeholders, the construction team and contractors.
 
Qualifications


The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, able to demonstrate expertise in community and stakeholder engagement in a planning and development context.  Experience in the wind energy industry is preferred.
