What Infrastructure is Required for Wind Energy


undefinedA wind energy development is likely to include the requirement for other infrastructure such as:

  • access roads;
  • onsite tracks;
  • a wind monitoring mast;
  • a substation;
  • a control building;
  • crane hardstandings;
  • electric cabling; and 
  • a construction compound.

Some of this infrastructure is permanent and some is temporary and used for the construction period only.

Details of all necessary infrastructure required for a given wind energy development will be included in the planning application.
